ABOUT ME

"I've been in law enforcement my entire adult life."

 

  • I live in Marshall, MO and am the Chief of Police in Sweet Springs since October 2003

  • Deputy in the Saline County Sheriff's Dept for 26 years

    • Began as a jailer and moved to road deputy

    • Chief Deputy for more than 12 years 

    • Chief investigator for the prosecuting attorney's office for 4 years

  • Member of Major Case Squad with numerous awards and accomodations for achievements in cases including murder investigations, burglaries, drug operations and various others.

  • Member of the Police Chiefs Association

  • Member of the Citizens Advisory Board of Probation and Parole for Saline and Lafayette counties.

 

I have training in counterintelligence, special weapons and tactics (SWAT) and running a voice stress analyzer/lie detector. I have attended FBI firearms range master school. I maintain a Class A license with the Dept of Public Safety post number to instruct/train police officers statewide in firearm certification and an instructor for concealed weapons permits.  I have a Juvenile Practitioners certification and a mulititude of other training, certifications and continuing education in law enforcement.

This is my PLEDGE TO THE CITIZENS OF SALINE COUNTY

I will ensure that I and my officers, in the performance of our duties, will enforce and administer the law according to the standards of the United States and Missouri State Constitutions and all applicable statutes, so that equal protection of the laws is guaranteed to everyone.

 

I will ensure that I and all employees of my office are fair and treat each other and the community with respect in a consistent manner.

I will demand excellence in the quality of our law enforcement, stressing professionalism, integrity and timeliness to provide outstanding service to the Citizens of Saline County.

 

I respect and recognize the integrity and dignity of all individuals. I will not tolerate nor condone brutal or inhumane treatment of others by my employees nor will I permit or condone inhumane or brutal treatment of inmates in my care and custody.

 

I will routinely conduct or have conducted an internal and external audit of the public funds entrusted to my care. I will publish this information so that the citizens can be informed about my stewardship of these funds.

 

I will recognize our weaknesses and strive to overcome them, demanding honesty over loyalty at all times. I will overcome all challenges while adhering to the highest standards of personal conduct and decency, demonstrating a passion for my profession and setting a standard for others to emulate.

 

I will strive to serve the county, safeguard lives and property, protect the innocent against deception, the weak against opression and intimidation, the peaceful against violence and disorder, and to respect the contitutional rights of all citizens to liberty, equality and justice. I am committed to working together in a problem solving patnership with our county to fight crime and improve the quality of life for our citizens.

 

I will strive to establish peaceful neighborhoods by providing proactive law enforcement and building vital trust based relationships. I recognize that trust and support are not automatically granted, but must be earned.

 

I will dedicate myself to the perfomance of my duty under the Constitution, God and the citizens I will serve.
